For the Birds
There are lots of fun things you can do to attract wild birds to your backyard. Today we’re making a Wild Bird Wreath, and you can too!
Supplies you will need:
Start by stringing popcorn, whole peanuts, cranberries, cereal, and dried fruit into a garland, using the needle and thin wire.
Wrap the finished garland around the wreath, using toothpicks to attach the ends of the garland to the wreath.
Combine one part shortening with one part peanut butter. Spread mixture over pine cone with butter knife.
Roll covered pinecones in mixture of dried fruit, sunflower seeds, and cereal.
Attach pinecones to wreath with wire.
Dip bagel chunks into peanut butter mixture and cover with cranberries, shelled peanuts, or fruit/sunflower seed/cereal mixture.
Attach to wreath with toothpicks.
Add apple and orange slices to wreath with toothpicks.
Add a raffia bow for the finishing touch.
