Habitat For Learning

Do you like field trips? It’s fun to spend a day outside the classroom, right? You’re still learning, but it happens in a whole different way. Well, some students in Wisconsin’s northwoods get to have a field day every day – without ever leaving their school. St. Germain Elementary School has a Natural Resource Habitat Area in its backyard – which features a pond, a garden, and prairie land. It’s a great environment for kids to learn about the things they’ve been studying in the classroom. And it also provides the perfect setting for hands-on learning and to discover the things that affect their world and environment.
