The Beetle invasion

When you go camping, do you buy your firewood near the campground?  Or do you bring it from home?  If you said you buy it near the campground, good for you!  If you said you bring it from home – we need to have a serious talk.
 
You see, it’s actually against DNR rules to transport firewood more than 50 miles.  Firewood can carry all kinds of invasive pests and diseases that can be dangerous, or even deadly, for Wisconsin’s trees.  Critters like the Emerald Ash Borer and the Gypsy Moth have been known to hitch a ride on firewood.
