Salamanders

Have you ever seen salamanders in the forest? If not, there's a good reason. They spend a lot of their time under coarse woody debris (from fallen trees and stuff) on the forest floor. Some researchers like Mitch, the graduate student in our segment, try to count salamanders in the forest. The more salamanders they find, the healthier the forest is thought to be.
