FUELS OF THE FUTURE

Did you know that some schools are using "biomass" energy? Several schools across Wisconsin are burning wood chips (leftovers when trees are harvested) to heat their schools. Biomass is "any renewable or recurring organic material," and wood chips are definitely "renewable"-as long as we take care of our forests properly. Scientists have been working hard on developing other forms of renewable energy, too. One day, your home's energy may come from a renewable source like the sun or the wind. And even your garbage might contribute to your city's energy supply. The possibilities for renewable energy are all around us!
