Adventure Team

Hi, my name is Trey.

I live in Monona.  I am entering seventh grade in the fall.  Some of the things I do when I am not shooting ITO are fishing, baseball, football, tennis, golf, soccer, swimming, ATVing in the North woods, playing the drums, and hanging with my friends.  I heard about ITO through an old friend that told me they were looking for a boy about my age to do an ad for TV.  I went there and auditioned for it.  While I was there, I could tell I wasn't quite right for the part, but one of the producers asked if I would be interested in another job there.  I read a script for her, and she called me the next week.  What I like about doing this is that I get to go places I have not been, meet people I don't know, and learn new things!

Question - Answer

Q:
What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?

A: I play soccer, baseball, basketball, football, golf, fish, play tennis, swim, bike, and hang out with my friends and family.

Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?

A: My friends at first did not believe me, and teased me, said I am on my way to Hollywood.  I laughed.  Then when they found out it was true, they thought it was great. My family was excited for me.

Q:
What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors?  And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?

A: The best part is that I learn new things, and see new places. The coolest thing I did on the shoot was memorize the other host’s part, which made me realize I can do this!

Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?

A: That you don't have much time to memorize your lines! I didn't know that it is not all filmed live, and that there is such a thing as voiceovers.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to?  And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?

A: I listen to country and rock music.  I have an iPod, so if I can, I do listen, but I mostly just talked to the crew.

Q: What is a normal shoot for you like?  Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after?  Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes?  Who decides these things?  Do you hang out with the crew?  I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?

A: A normal shoot starts early in the morning.  I get to the desired place, meet the other people and the crew, and hope for nice weather. I have to dress appropriately for the setting, and what I am talking about.  This is decided by the crew and myself.  I rode with the crew my first time, and got to know them on the way.  We shot the same scene about five times, getting better each time.  Then we went back to the office and did the voiceovers.

Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot?  When do you make up the work?  And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?

A: It is hard to make up school work, especially if you’re rained out the first day, and you end up missing two days.  I just get the work I am going to miss, and make it up over the next few days.  I would not be able to continue to do ITO if my grades went down.  My parents say money is good, but good grades are great.

Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite?  Why?  Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?

A: I have only done one episode so far, so I don't have any to compare.  I just know I had a great time doing that one. I will look forward to doing more. The segment topic was actually not a thing I would have chosen but it was okay. I had a lot of fun with the crew. They are all very fun to be around.

Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?

A: My favorite movie is “A Walk to Remember.”  My favorite part in the movie was when one of the main characters tries to get into a gang or gain respect from his friends so he has to jump off a high telephone pole into a shallow sewer system that he thought was deep. He hits his head on a huge pole on the bottom of it, and his friends swim out to try and save him. The cops come and see all the people trespassing so all his friends bail on him, and get away. He slowly swims to the pier and gets help. He now has respect from everybody in school, and the girl he has liked for years found out what is really inside him.  She thinks he's a great guy and would like to get to know himow and Will Turner are fighting on a rolling water wheel that has come loose.

Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be?  What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?

A: I would be a professional baseball catcher.  It is my favorite place to be, behind a plate, and thinking about getting paid to do what you love is an awesome thought. I have always wanted to be one
