Hi, my name is Megan.
I am 10 years old and go to school in Kenosha. I have one brother, Ryan, and one sister, Malory, a dog named Lacey and my mom and dad. At school I am in the Southport Singers, (a singing group at school.) It’s a lot of fun. I'm also involved in girl scouts. Recently, I started doing some modeling, which is fun too. When my mom told me about this, I was very excited! I want to be on TV when I grow up and report the news.
I am really excited about being on this show because I love the outdoors and I love how kids can show off thier talents, like fishing and archery. I think it’s important to learn and understand these things. I have seen it in school too. Shows like this make learning fun!
Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?
A: I like to go swimming and play with my dog Lacie. I also do gymnastics, and take dancing classes. And I love shopping!
Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?
A: They are very excited for me. My family thinks it’s pretty cool and that I will do very well. My friends love to see me on television.
Q: What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors? And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?
A: The best part about being on the show is that I get to be on TV. I have always wanted to be on TV. The coolest thing I got to do on a shoot was to take a tour of the powerplant and stand at the bottom of this huge smoke stack and look up. It was very far up! And super cool.
Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?
A: I learned that it takes a long time to shoot. The camera man has to get many different angles, and you do your lines again and again.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to? And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?
A: I love a lot of different types of music, pop, country and musicals. I don't listen to it on set. We’re busy all the time.
Q: What is a normal shoot for you like? Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after? Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes? Who decides these things? Do you hang out with the crew? I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?
A: I haven’t stayed in a hotel yet. On one of my favorite shoots we met the crew at the power plant in the morning, had lunch with them, and then shot all afternoon. I didn't wear any makeup and I was shooting an episode that involved playing basketball so I wore sporty type clothes. The producer said what to wear. We also shot at the power plant and they had restrictions so no shorts were allowed, so I wore pants over my shorts. Because we were in the power plant we had to wear hardhats and safety glasses, and then when we went inside we had to put orange earplugs in our ears because the noise was so loud. But they kept falling out of my ears!
Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot? When do you make up the work? And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?
A: I haven't had to get out of school yet for a shoot, but I would ask for my work before I left, so I had it when I had time in the car to do it. My parents say grades come first.
Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite? Why? Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?
A: My favorite is the first one I did at the power plant, because It was a whole new thing for me. I learned a lot and it was fun.
Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?
A: My favorite movie is Homeward Bound because I love dogs, and that movie is so great. My favorite part is when the dogs came home safe.
Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be? What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?
A: I want to be an actress or a singer. I think it would be cool to be on TV shows. I have wanted to be a singer/actress since I can remember.
