Adventure Team

Hi, my name is Max.

I am a student at a big elementary school in Northern Illinois. We have a busy home with big brother Luke, pesky little brother Roy, and the princess of the family, my little sister Jill. But that’s not all; a puppy named Ace, two Australian cockatiels named Machu and Pichu, two African dwarf frogs from the Congo - Olloch and Polytoad and three hermit crabs named Jesse, James and Meowth. I love to play hockey, baseball, soccer and basketball. I really enjoy acting and have had various roles in community theater productions. It was so cool when my mom told me I was cast on INTO THE OUTDOORS! I have been in print advertisements, but I always wanted to be on TV!

My siblings and I really like doing stuff outdoors. I caught my first fish when I was three and my Dad posted YouTube videos of my catch when I was five and when I hooked the family record a few years ago for the biggest largemouth bass from our local pond! The best part of camping is our family tradition of making cobbler in a Dutch oven (and of course smores!). When I found out about the episode, I checked out Wikipedia to learn more about the topics to be a better host.  We all share the environment and the show is an opportunity to explore the outdoors from a kid’s perspective and make learning fun.

Question - Answer

Q:
How did you get picked to be on Into the Outdoors?

A:I’ve worked with a talent agency for several years on print advertising. The called me for an audition and before I knew it; Voila! (I thought my Mom was teasing me!)

Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?

A: My older brother is kerfuffled (he also auditioned - HA). But seriously, my whole family is very excited including my friends in Wisconsin and Grandparents and cousins in Iowa, Minnesota and Texas!

Q:
What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors?  And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?

A: new friends, visiting the hatchery, and having my mom all to myself surrounded by beautiful lakes and nature.

Q: Did you learn anything interesting on your shoot that you didn’t know before?

A: I learned that Lac du Flambeau (Lake of the Torches) and other lakes in Wisconsin have restrictions on the amount of fish you can take daily to prevent overfishing.

Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it?

A: Yes; when the producer says, “We’ll do it one more time.” That really means a hundred more times.

Q: What is a normal shoot for you like?  Do you get to travel?

A: I have only been in one shoot; but I haven’t been shot! I got to travel with my Mom from Illinois to Wisconsin, have lunch with the crew and dinner at a Japanese restaurant with my Mom.

Q: Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes?  Who decides these things?  Do you hang out with the crew?  I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?

A: My mom spikes up my hair. The crew is usually very friendly and funny. They once asked me to boogie and I told them I couldn’t because I was allergic to dancing! (I don’t think they bought it!).

Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot?  When do you make up the work?  And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?

A: It is not hard at all to make up the schoolwork; I usually do my homework on the bus ride home. School is really important for my parents and I (My grades would never go down; I’m ahead of the class!).

Q: How many Into the Outdoors episodes have you been in?

A: This is my first one; I hope to do more!

Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?

A: I like to read (latest is Percy Jackson & the Olympians), make mini movies on the computer and play video games.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to?  And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?

A: like song parodies (the computernerd01 is the best), Flo Rida, Black Eyed Peas, and most anything EXCEPT for Justin Bieber!

Q: What is your favorite movie and why?

A: Rio because it made the jungle look like a fun place to be.

Q: Have you done any acting before? If so, what has been your favorite role(s)?

A: Yes; but never on TV before. My favorite role was the March Hare in Alice’s in Wonderland
.

Q: What kind of activities do you participate in at school and in your community?

A: At school I go to advanced Math and English. In the community, my Boy Scout Den has worked on coin drives, collecting groceries for the food shelter and recycling projects
.

Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be?  What’s so cool about it… and is that what you’ve you always wanted to be?

A: I want to be an electrical engineer because you get to invent robots or an actor on TV (like my Mom was) because it would be so cool for my friends and family to watch my show
.
