Adventure Team

Hi, I'm Josie!

I love to sing, act, run, travel, and spend time with friends! Acting is one of my passions. I have been in three First Stage Children’s Theater productions and have played Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka Jr., and was Jasmine in my school’s production of Aladdin Jr. this year. I have also been an extra in the movie Public Enemies. Recently I performed on The Morning Blend, a local talk show. One of my dreams has always been to be on a T.V. show and that dream came true when I got cast on Into the Outdoors.

I am the oldest in my family. I have a younger sister (Tory), and a younger brother (Jack). My mom is Corrina, and my dad is Tom. I also have a dog named Scout, and he loves to be outside too!

I really enjoyed being on the show. It was super fun and I liked learning about Wisconsin and cranberry bogs. I also learned about Native Americans, which is something I have been interested in for a long time!

Into the Outdoors makes everyone appreciate the outdoors and helps people learn more about their environment and the great state of Wisconsin!

Question - Answer

Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?

A: I like to hang out with my friends, do theater, and of course, be outside! I love going to our local Audubon and taking walks.

Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?

A: Everyone was so excited!  My friends were really excited to see the episode.  My family was really supportive and helped me memorize all my lines.

Q:
What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors?  And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?

A: I loved learning about all the interesting things in Wisconsin, and watching a real T.V. show be made was really cool! It was really fun talking to the expert, Brett McConnell, because he had lots of neat information to share with me. When I recorded my voice over (VO), I got to see a T.V. studio and record in a sound booth. Also, since I like traveling, just the drive up was fun!

Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?

A: Well, I learned a lot about how cranberry bogs are converted to wild rice beds and why that’s so important to tribal members. It takes A LOT of hard work to convert the bogs into wild rice beds too.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to?  And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?

A: I listen to a wide variety of music! I love Pop, Country, etc. I love music from musicals as well. The only kind of music I don’t really care for is Rap.

Q: What is a normal shoot for you like?  Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after?  Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes?  Who decides these things?  Do you hang out with the crew?  I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?

A: First we drove to the location. Then I stayed in a hotel overnight, and the next morning, I met Brett at the shoot location and we shot our interview and the rest of the episode. No I didn’t have to wear any makeup. I had to make sure none of the clothes I wore had logos, but otherwise I just wore normal clothes.

Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot?  When do you make up the work?  And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?

A: I make up everything I miss pretty easily. I usually miss 2 days, and I make it up right away when I return. If my grades dropped, I most likely would not be able to be on the show until my grades went back up.

Q: What kind of activities do you participate in at school and in your community?

A: I like to act and do theater! Also, I always to Cross Country on my school team and Forensics, which is speaking and acting. I participate in the school musical we do every spring as well. This summer I am giving softball a shot too!

Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?

A: That’s such a hard question! I love the Harry Potter movies, and oldies like To Kill a Mockingbird and Casablanca. Cheaper by the Dozen 2 is always great, and I like to watch “chick flicks” with my friends. The old Disney princess movies are great too! I love it when Aladdin takes Jasmine on a magic carpet ride in Aladdin, and when Ariel sings “Part of Your World.”

Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be?  What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?

A: Definitely an actress! I have wanted to be an actress since I was 3 years old.  But a being writer would also be fun!
