Hi, my name is Jonathan.
I’m a sixh grader and have played many roles with the Whitnall Children's Theatre as well as with my high school's theater department. I have been working with the Milwaukee Repatory Theatre as Thor in the production of "The Nerd". I have played Troy in my school's production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL. I also found a home with the First Stage Children's Theater when I played Flick in A CHRISTMAS STORY. I am passionate about acting, music (especially singing and playing drums or guitar), and doing almost anything to make you laugh. When I am not on stage or on set - I can regularly be found annoying the daylights out of my sisters.
Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?
A: I take classes at First Stage Academey, play baseball, drums and currently am acting in the Milwaukee Reperatory production of "THE NERD" as Thor Waldgrave.
Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?
A: I really didn't tell many people, I think it will be more fun to see if anyone recognizes me after the show is aired on T.V. I am also really busy with the other play, so I am focusing on that.
Q: What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors? And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?
A: Getting paid-----just kidding-----I liked meeting new people and getting the experience on camera. My episode was on making paper so I really learned a lot that day.
Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?
A: It takes paticence because the camera dude has to get his view just right and then the producer has to like it. The sound has to be exact. I learned that many things have to come together so the show is a success.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to? And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?
A: I like-----NO I LOVE-----rock even some metal.
Q: What is a normal shoot for you like? Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after? Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes? Who decides these things? Do you hang out with the crew? I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?
A: So far a hotel hasn’t been necessary. The producer chooses clothing which we bring from home. I don’t have to have any makeup on, they want the natural "kid" look, which I prefer. Makeup clogs my pores.
Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot? When do you make up the work? And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?
A: My mom arranges to have school work ahead of time- then I can work on it when we are in the car. My grades are a priorty, so I am sure my mom would choose school over work if my grades went down because of acting.
Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite? Why? Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?
A: Hand made paper was my first episode so I guess it is my favorite one for now. We had fun on the set. When Joe, the sound guy was checking our mics, I kept secretly saying "taste the rainbow". He wasn't sure which of the kids was doing it.
Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?
A: Favorite Movie? Easy------"ANCHOR MAN" hands down. Favorite part? When Steve Carel is in the news room with the other guys and they are all yelling and he yells, "I don't know why we are yelling".
Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be? What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?
A: I would like to be an actor. I haven't been doing it very long, but I love it and have never enjoyed doing something as much. I especially love doing live theatre, seeing the audience and hearing them laugh is a real thrill. I will definitely hold on to this and work to become the best I can.
