Adventure Team

Hi, my name is John.

I am a middle school student and love acting, sports and music!  I have been acting since I was three years old and have done work for television and the stage.  I have acted in “A Christmas Carol” at the Milwaukee Rep, “Tom Sawyer” at First Stage Children’s Theater, and most recently played “Ralphie” in “A Christmas Story”.  I enjoy playing the guitar, piano, drums and also love sports, including running, baseball and my favorite, lacrosse! I love being part of ITO because it gives me a chance to act and at the same time learn a lot of really cool stuff!

Question - Answer

Q:
What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?

A: I really love to play lacrosse and other sports. I am usually also doing other jobs and shows.

Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?

A: My friends are very jealous that I get to miss school, and my family is always very supportive and excited to see a new episode.

Q:
What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors?  And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?

A: I really love the atmosphere and friends on the set, everyone is very nice. I also enjoy learning so much. One time, I got to go swimming and out boating on a shoot, and that was pretty fun.

Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?

A: I learned to be quiet and patient, and that “one more time” really didn’t mean “one more time”.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to?  And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?

A: I really like both rock and rap music. My favorite band is U2. I usually only listen to music on the drive out to the shoot, not between shots.

Q: What is a normal shoot for you like?  Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after?  Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes?  Who decides these things?  Do you hang out with the crew?  I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?

A: At a normal shoot, I usually don’t stay in a hotel, but that would be my parents’ decision. I bring a lot of clothes for the producers to choose from, but I never really have to wear makeup for ITO. I hang out with the crew at most every shoot, they are always very cool and nice… we have a great time.

Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot?  When do you make up the work?  And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?

A: It isn’t usually very hard to make up schoolwork. Sometimes I do the work in the car, or in my limited free time. My parents see ITO as a privilege, and if my grades went down, they probably wouldn’t let me do it. But they also know that ITO is a great learning experience.

Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite?  Why?  Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?

A: I did one segment at Old World Wisconsin where I got to have a lot of fun with cows… milking them, throwing cow pies, etc. I also had a lot of fun with the crew.

Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?

A: I have a lot of favorite movies; I’m a big movie-watcher. My favorite genre is comedy, and one of my favorite parts in a movie is when Will Ferrell skates with John Heder in Blades of Glory.

Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be?  What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?

A: Right now, I’d really love to be a pro lacrosse player and be on the USA team. I just love the sport. I just found this out this year when I started playing
.
