Hi, my name is Case.
Hi, everyone!!! I am super excited to join the cast of Into the Outdoors! I am 10 years old and I just finished 4th grade at Stoner Prairie Elementary in Verona, WI. I have a 7 year old brother and a 6 year old sister and they are both so excited that I am part of the show. I enjoy spending time outside and what better way to do it than learning about new stuff on the show!!! In my spare time I play baseball, football, go camping, and travel a lot. (I have been to 25 of the 50 states, and 3 different countries!) I am excited to see everything there is to learn on Into the Outdoor this season!!! I hope you are, too!!! Get outdoors, and see you soon!
Q: What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?
A: I like to play outdoors, play with my brother (Carrick), my friends (Sam, Michael, Kyle), see fiction movies, play baseball, football, ride my bike, and I run a mile everyday!!! I also create stories and make videos with my friends all the time! I also enjoy acting and modeling.
Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?
A: My friends were all psyched at first and my teacher thought it was so cool! My family was super excited for me because they knew how hard I worked to get ready for the audition and how badly I wanted the gig!
Q: What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors? And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?
A: My favorite part about being on ITO is that I get to spend a lot of time outdoors! Riding in the "forwarder" and the "harvester" was definitely the coolest thing so far!
Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?
A: You have to really memorize your lines and be very expressive when you say your lines! You might have to do one small part 5, 6, or 11 times.
Q: What kind of music do you listen to? And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?
A: I have an mp3 player but don’t have a lot of free time to really sit and just listen to music.
Q: What is a normal shoot for you like? Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after? Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes? Who decides these things? Do you hang out with the crew? I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?
A: You have to be ready and you have to wake up pretty early and go thru your lines before you start filming. If I am shooting far away we stay in a hotel the night before. Sometimes I will have dinner with the film crew if we are in a hotel the night before to run lines.
Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot? When do you make up the work? And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?
A: Sometimes it’s hard to make it up, it depends what subject it is. Math and social studies are harder to make up. I try to do some of it ahead of the shoot day and the rest I make up at home. My parents and I have a deal that if my grades start to slip I can’t do the show anymore. They think my grades are the most important thing.
Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite? Why? Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?
A: The Timber Harvesting episode was my favorite!!! It was super interesting and I learned a LOT!!!!.
Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?
A: It’s a tie between Spiderman 3 and Star Wars Episode 3. My favorite part of Spiderman 3 is Sandman and Venom vs Harry and Spiderman. My favorite part of Star Wars Episode 3 is the battle scene between ObiWanKenobe and Anakin.
Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be? What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?
A: Either a writer or an actor. I would like to write a movie and act in it myself. I like acting because sometimes you get to play someone totally different than you and that would be just so awesome. I have ALWAYS wanted to be an actor, and now that I feel good about the stories that I write, I want to be a writer when I grow up.
