Adventure Team

Hi, my name is Adina.

In the past I have gone to First Stage Theater Academy for summer classes in 2005 and 2006. I also played a role in the First Stage Theater play, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, and Ezperanza Rising.  As you know, I have also hosted a Into the Outdoors segment and done the teasers and I hope to do some more. I was introduced to Into the Outdoors when First Stage Theater informed my brother that he was asked to do a segment in 2005. This interested me, so the next year I auditioned and then was asked to do a segment in the spring of 2007. Over all, all of these acting experiences have been a blast, especially Into the Outdoors, and I hope to do some more.

Question - Answer

Q:
What do you do for fun when you’re not shooting Into the Outdoors?

A: I like to play sports like gymnastics, ice skating, softball, soccer, snowboarding, tennis, and golf. I also enjoy doing art, and acting activities.

Q: How do your friends and family feel about you being a host on Into the Outdoors?

A: My friends at school are interested in it and support me. Just like my friends, my    family supports me to do my best!

Q:
What is the best part about being on Into the Outdoors?  And the coolest thing you’ve ever gotten to do on a shoot?

A: I think everything is great, but the two best things about it is that I get to learn all    of this neat information that’s going on in the world, and when I watch the show that I hosted. I truly can see me having fun and know that there are so many things I can do and achieve. The coolest thing would be that I got to take a behind the scenes look at a science lab.

Q: What did you learn about the shooting process of Into the Outdoors that you didn’t know before you did it the first… second… or third time?

A: I learned about how to do voice-overs, and how it works, even if you say your lines really well, the crew makes you say the lines again to be safe,
and that everyone has to be patient.

Q: What kind of music do you listen to?  And do you listen to it between shots or locations on a shoot?

A: I enjoy listening to jazz and soothing music to calm me down, especially before a   shoot. Usually when I’m at home chilling out, I like to listen to pop, and today’s style, not too fast or slow, music that’s fun and expressive.

Q: What is a normal shoot for you like?  Do you stay in a hotel the night before or after?  Do you have to wear make-up or special clothes?  Who decides these things?  Do you hang out with the crew?  I have so many questions I don’t know where to start… tell me everything?

A: It’s pretty much step by step; we drive to the sight, recite my lines, go to the studio later and do the voice over parts. I have never stayed in hotel for one of my shoots. I don’t usually wear make-up because it’s not necessary or specific/special clothes unless it’s a play. The crew or director decides this usually, and yes, I like to hang out with the crew. Hanging out with the crew is fun, especially when you have stuff in common.

Q: Is it hard to make up school work when you have to miss class for an Into the Outdoors shoot?  When do you make up the work?  And, would your parents still let you be a part of the ITO cast if your grades started to go down?

A: It was sort of hard for me to make up class because, but sometimes I already learned the topic, so the work wasn’t too hard. Either the work is made up in school or at home. If my grades started to go down, my parents would probably not let me be in ITO because my education comes first.  If my grades would improve quickly, there would be a great chance of coming back.  But I continue to get good grades.

Q: Of all the Into the Outdoors episodes you’ve done, which one is your favorite?  Why?  Was the segment’s topic really interesting, or did you just have fun with the crew?

A: I have only done one episode on ITO, but it was very interesting and fun! The segment was about sugar power and converting it into energy, and it was so fascinating because it was out of the blue, seriously, I was shocked to find out what these scientists were doing. Also, the crew made me feel very comfortable and I had a phenomenal time!

Q: What is your favorite movie… and your favorite part, of course?

A: My favorite movie would have to be The Pursuit of Happyness. My favorite part was when the son told his dad this line, “You’re a good Papa”. It was so moving to see that this man who was struggling to give his son a good life, was told by his son that he already loved him, no matter what happened in the past and what’s happening in the present. It told me if you’re trying so hard to be someone or do something, you have already achieved it because you’re trying.

Q: If you could be ANYTHING in the world when you grow up, what would it be?  What’s so cool about it… and have you always wanted to be one?

A: I would like to be an architect or interior designer. I have wanted to be one of them for a long time since my father’s an architect and my mother’s an interior designer. I love being creative, so doing one of these jobs really lets me use my creativity
.
